Chichester & Bognor C v Fareham C
The C team completed their season’s campaign with a good 4-2 win against Fareham C, although this was somewhat helped by Fareham defaulting on one board. This ensured a creditable second place finish in the third division of the Portsmouth League for the C Team.
The other three points came from wins from Mick Plumb and Laszlo Sagi and draws from Alex Miller and Dave Mawson.

Chichester & Bognor A v Emsworth A
The A Team are a little up against it being 2½-1½ down against Emsworth A with two games having been adjourned. The points so far have come from a terrific win by Alex Miller against Martin Buckley and a draw by Bill McDougall against Philip Stimpson.
The adjourned games are between Jaimie Wilson v Dominic Tunks and Bill Partridge v Paul Cooper.

Cosham B v Chichester & Bognor B
Although being outgraded by Cosham B the B Team put up a an excellent performance to be leading 3-2 with one game having been adjourned.
The points came from wins by Ray Hunt (after his opponent had turned down the offer of a draw) and Mick Plumb, with draws by Keith Davies and Cliff Cropp. The adjourned game is between Warwick Turner and Cosham’s Steve LeFerve.

Portsmouth C v Chichester & Bognor C
The C Team gained an excellent draw against top of the table and Division Three Champions Portsmouth C. Although this was helped to some degree by Portsmouth defaulting on one board it was still a very good performance.
The other two points came from wins by Laszlo Sagi and 14 year old Rafael Harbour giving him his second win in three matches.

Cosham A v Chichester & Bognor A
The A Team are currently 3-2 down against Cosham A with one game having been adjourned. This is an excellent performance by the A Team considering they were without three of their top four players.
The two points came from a comprehensive win by Steve Smith against Peter Dallas and very good draws by Mick Plumb and Alex Miller against higher graded players.
The adjourned game, between Jaimie Wilson and John Wheeler, will continue this Friday 27th April and is very much in the balance.

Chichester & Bognor A v Gosport
The A Team took over second spot in Division 1 of the Portsmouth League by just half a game point when they beat them by 3½-2½ in their latest match. The points came with wins from Andrew McDougall, Jaimie Wilson and Ray Williams with Bill Partridge gaining a draw.

Fareham A – League Champions
Chichester Chess Club would like to congratulate Fareham A on winning the Portsmouth League Championship with two matches still to play. Given the competitive nature of the the First Division this is a terrific performance.
Portsmouth B v Chichester & Bognor B
After taking the the second division of the Portsmouth League by storm in the first half of the season by winning all four of their matches, the B Team fell to their third successive defeat in the second half, this time to Portsmouth B by 3½-2½. The 2½ points came with a win from Cliff Cropp and draws from Keith Davies, Ray Williams and Ray Hunt.

The C Team fell to a 4-2 defeat by a very strong Cosham C team. The C Team’s one success came with an excellent and very quick win by Warwick Turner in only his second match. The other point came from draws by Alex Miller and Philip Wake.

Chichester & Bognor v Gosport – Cole Cup Semi-Final
A combined Chichester and Bognor team gained an excellent 4-1 victory over Gosport to, once again, reach the final of the Cole Cup where they will play either Portsmouth or Fareham.
